Duties & Responsibilities:
Reporting to Director - Corporate Finance, the key priority of this role is contribute to the Commission’s work in the development of a high quality primary market for capital raisings in Hong Kong.
You will be involved in a broad range of listing policy and regulatory work, including:
- developing and enhancing the rules and policies for the Hong Kong listing market and the regulation of public offers, new listings, listing applicants and related market participants;
- evaluating issues involving listing applications and listing applicants that are novel, controversial or sensitive or have policy implications; and
- supervising Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited as a listed company.
You will work closely with the IPO Transaction Team and other teams within the SFC as well as the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. There will also be opportunities to engage with overseas securities regulators and international organisations such as IOSCO.
An ideal candidate should possess a university degree preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Statistics, Law and relevant professional qualifications such as CFA. He or she should have relevant work experience of at least 5 years from securities and futures companies, investment banks, professional law or accounting firms or relevant regulatory bodies. Proficiency in conducting sophisticated quantitative analyses of market data for the identification of market risks and other issues is essential. He or she should also be able to analyze complex issues and support research into policy initiatives. He or she must have an excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese.
