Obtaining a printed licence record

We only accept requests from current/former licencees for their own licence records. Please note that we do not respond to requests from recruitment or background check companies.

To obtain your licence record, you must sign the request and submit to us the original request document with the following information:

  • Full name (as shown on your identification documents)
  • Central entity number (CE No)
  • Hong Kong identification card number
  • Correspondence address, phone number and email

Please send the request by mail to Licensing, Intermediaries, Securities and Futures Commission, 54/F, One Island East, 18 Westlands Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong. We will contact you to collect your licence record in person when it is ready. Please note that charges may apply for obtaining copies of documents.

Licence renewal

In general, a licence (except a temporary licence with a specific term) remains active until it is suspended or revoked. The holder of a licence is obliged to pay an annual fee and submit annual return to us, failure of which will result in suspension or revocation of the licence.
